This nurturing, student‑centred school in Great Yarmouth rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted - supports young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, including anxiety, trauma-related behaviours, attachment needs and complex SEMH profiles. With a curriculum grounded in emotional literacy, wellbeing, and life skills, you’ll help empower pupils to build confidence, resilience, and a positive sense of self.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging, relevant PSHE lessons to KS3 and KS4 pupils with SEMH needs

Create a safe, trauma‑informed learning environment where pupils feel valued and heard

Adapt teaching to individual needs, including EHCP targets and personalised plans

Build strong, trusting relationships that support emotional regulation and personal growth

Work closely with therapists, behaviour specialists, and pastoral staff to ensure holistic support

About the School

Specialist SEMH provision with a whole‑school therapeutic approach

Trauma‑informed practice with a no‑restraint behaviour philosophy

Small class sizes (maximum of 10 pupils), each supported by a highly skilled team

Onsite pastoral and clinical services including counselling and mental health practitioners

A values-led culture prioritising wellbeing, mutual respect, and positive communication

What We’re Looking For

QTS or QTLS (essential)

Experience teaching PSHE, pastoral curriculum, or a related subject

Understanding of SEMH needs, behaviour support strategies, and trauma-informed practice

Empathy, patience, and the ability to engage learners with complex emotional needs

A creative, flexible approach to lesson planning and relationship-building

Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (advantageous but not essential)
