Step Into Teaching is working with a supportive primary school in Basildon, Essex, looking for a Graduate Learning Support Assistant to join their team. Whether you're ready to start immediately or looking ahead to September 2026, this is an excellent opportunity to build real classroom experience across a full academic year.

The Opportunity:
  • Graduate Learning Support Assistant (Literacy & Numeracy focus)
  • Basildon, Essex
  • Full-time - start ASAP or September 2026
  • Full academic year commitment required
  • Monday to Friday (term time only)
  • £500-£520 per week
  • 1:1 and small group support
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons
  • Provide targeted support to pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Assist with lesson preparation and classroom resources
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Track pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
  • Support pupils with additional needs, including SEN
  • Contribute to school life, including events and extracurricular activities
The Successful Graduate Will Have:
  • A 2:2 degree or above (any subject
    - English/Maths desirable)
  • A genuine interest in education and supporting young learners
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organisation and time-management abilities
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • A proactive, positive, and adaptable approach

(Previous school experience or SEN knowledge is beneficial but not essential.)
