Purpose of Role:

The Inclusion & Disciplinary Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all student and apprentice cases that fall under the Student/Apprenticeship Inclusion and Disciplinary Policy. The role ensures that disciplinary processes are fair, balanced, inclusive and developmental, supporting learners to reflect, repair relationships, and re-engage successfully with their studies. The postholder will work closely with curriculum teams, pastoral staff, safeguarding, wellbeing, success coaches and external agencies to ensure that each case is managed with proportionality, compassion, and rigour;

creating conditions where every learner can access education, rebuild behaviours, and fulfil their potential.

Key needs from you and the role;

  • Lead and manage Stage 2 and 3 student disciplinary cases, chairing meetings and ensuring all actions comply with College policies through fair, proportionate, and trauma-informed decision-making.
  • Develop and coordinate inclusive support plans, restorative interventions, and behaviour improvement strategies to help learners remain engaged, succeed, and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with curriculum teams, safeguarding, wellbeing, parents/carers, employers, and external agencies to provide coordinated support and guidance for students.
  • Monitor disciplinary trends, maintain accurate case records, produce reports, and contribute to the review and continuous improvement of inclusion and disciplinary practices.
  • Deliver staff training and guidance on behaviour management, restorative practice, and inclusion, while promoting safeguarding, wellbeing, equality, and a positive college culture.
