We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivational and knowledgeable Sports Lecturer to join our thriving Sport and Public Services curriculum area.
This is an exciting opportunity to deliver engaging and inspiring lessons across our Foundation provision and contribute to the development and delivery of our new sport programme. You will play a key role in supporting students to develop their knowledge, skills and confidence whilst preparing them for further study, apprenticeships or employment within the sport sector.
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching and learning across a range of sport qualifications, including:
- Gateway Qualifications Level 1 Award in Sport.
- Gateway Qualifications Level 2 Award in Sport.
- Foundation Learning Sport programmes.
- New and developing Sport provision.
Working with learners from diverse backgrounds and abilities, you will create an inclusive and engaging learning environment that enables students to achieve their full potential.
Key needs from you and the role;
- Planning and delivering high-quality sport lessons and practical sessions.
- Assessing student work and providing constructive feedback.
- Monitoring student progress and implementing strategies to maximize achievement.
- Supporting curriculum development and enhancement of sport programmes.
- Acting as a personal tutor and promoting positive student engagement and attendance.
- Contributing to enrichment activities, trips, events and employer engagement opportunities.
- Maintaining accurate records in line with awarding body and college requirements.
- Promoting safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion at all times.
- Degree in Sport, Sports Science, Physical Education or a related subject.
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.
- Experience delivering engaging learning programmes to young people.
- Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire students from a range of backgrounds.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting learner wellbeing.
