Banking / Capital Markets The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Financial Controller to join a strategic programme focused on establishing a European Union Credit Institution within the EMEA region. Working within a high profile project, you will be responsible for the financial governance, planning, forecasting, reporting, and cost control of a high-profile transformation programme. This role will partner closely with Programme Managers, Treasury, Finance, Procurement, and senior stakeholders to ensure robust financial oversight and accurate reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
The successful candidate will have experience supporting large-scale change programmes within financial services, with strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial management expertise.
Key Responsibilities Manage programme budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. Track actual expenditure against budget and provide detailed variance analysis. Monitor programme financial performance and identify potential cost overruns or risks. Produce financial reports, dashboards, and management information packs for senior stakeholders. Prepare reporting and presentations for Steering Committees and programme governance forums. Support financial planning activities across multiple project work streams.
Track commitments, accruals, invoices, purchase orders, and programme spend. Maintain financial controls and ensure compliance with internal governance requirements. Support change control processes, assessing the financial impact of scope or budget changes. Partner with Treasury, Finance, Procurement, and Programme teams to deliver accurate and timely financial reporting. Required experience experience as a Project Financial Controller, Programme Financial Controller, Project Finance Manager, PMO Finance Manager, or similar.
Background supporting large-scale business, regulatory, or technology transformation programmes. Strong budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and financial planning experience. Ability to produce meaningful financial reporting, dashboards, and management information. experience presenting financial information to senior stakeholders and steering committees. Strong stakeholder management skills across Finance, Treasury, PMO, and Programme teams. experience within Banking, Capital Markets, Financial Services, or Treasury environments. Desirable experience experience supporting regulatory change, legal entity setup, or banking licence programmes.
Knowledge of capital markets products and financial services operating models.
