We are seeking motivated Band 5 Registered Nurses to join our dynamic Emergency Department team.
You will deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients presenting with a wide range of urgent and emergency conditions. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will utilise your clinical skills to assess, prioritise and treat patients safely and effectively.
You will collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team, contribute to continuous service improvement, and support junior colleagues. This role offers opportunities to develop advanced skills, enhance your clinical confidence, and play a key part in providing safe, responsive emergency care to our community.

Main duties of the jobMain Duties of the Role:
- Provide safe, effective assessment, planning and delivery of care to patients with urgent and emergency needs.
- Triage and prioritise patients using clinical judgement and established ED protocols.
- Undertake timely clinical interventions, observations and treatments in line with trust policies.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless, patient-centred care.
- Support, mentor and guide junior staff and students within the department.
- Maintain accurate, contemporaneous documentation and contribute to effective handovers.
- Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives and departmental training.
- Respond calmly and professionally to high-pressure, rapidly changing clinical situations.

Person Specification Education and Qualifications- Registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- Degree in Nursing or relevant experience
- Emergency Nurse level one competency or working towards
- Evidence of CPD relevent to emergency care
- Currently working in an Acute Trust
- Currently working in an Emergency Department
- Demonstrated ability to work within Emergency Care pathways
- Proven ability to recognise and manage deteriorating patients
- Competent in basic ED skills:
Cannulation, Venepuncture, ECG recording and basic interpretation, wound care - Knowledge of safeguarding process, and key principles of Mental Capacity Act
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure with conflicting priorities
- Demonstrates clear, effective communication
- Demonstrates commitment to NHS values
- Willingness to develop and undertake further ED specific training
- Demonstrates compassion, kindness, and reflective practice
