Introduction: The Community Connector supports assigned individuals in a community-based day services model to promote independence and personal growth. The role involves ensuring integration into the community and creating meaningful daily activities based on each person's desires, strengths, and needs.
Key ResponsibilitiesNone.
SupervisionSupervised by the Assistant Director, Day Services.
Physical QualificationsFlexible schedule required. Ability to stand/walk 50% of the time, sit and drive 50%. Capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling 20 pounds. Able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach. These physical abilities are necessary to assist and supervise individuals with disabilities.
QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent required. At least three years of experience working with people with disabilities or behavioral issues. Demonstrated ability in providing respectful support for at least one year. Bachelor's degree in special education, therapeutic recreation, psychology, or related field preferred. Use of personal vehicle required for transportation; must follow all Melwood transportation policies and maintain full liability insurance on the vehicle.
