Position: Advisor I, TRIO
* 5 (five) years of additional applicable work experience and/or degrees higher than minimum qualification degree. Degrees higher than the minimum qualification degree can be used in combination with additional work experience.
* A combination of related education, on-the-job work experience, certifications and/or licenses that results in a candidate successfully meeting the minimum qualifications of the position, may be considered.

* Ensure comprehensive and accurate documentation of all student interactions in compliance with U.S. Department of Education guidelines and institutional policies.
* Collaborate with core grant personnel to monitor student progress and outcomes, contributing to data collection for the Annual Performance Report (APR).
* Maintain detailed case notes and time logs for advising and student support sessions.
* Verify that all student files include required documentation; such as intake applications, academic transcripts, standardized test scores, and eligibility verification materials to ensure compliance with federal TRIO program guidelines.
* Facilitate student participation in transfer-related programming, including four-year college campus visits, scholarship workshops, and financial literacy events.
* Instruct students in the use of institutional systems such as online registration portals and academic planning tools.
* Review academic records to assess course placement and identify needs for additional academic support.
* Assist in the coordination and delivery of workshops, cultural events, and service learning opportunities that align with program objectives and enhance the student experience.
* Working knowledge of admissions, financial aid, and issues specific to the populations targeted by the SSS program.
* Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with faculty, campus officials, staff, community organizations, other agencies, and students from diverse backgrounds.
* Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work some evenings and weekends as needed.
* This position requires the use of a company vehicle for business travel. The selected candidate must successfully pass an MVR and be insurable under Aims insurance.
* Bilingual in Spanish/English.
* Experience supporting students who are first-generation, from a limited-income background, or students with a disability.
* Experience working in a community college setting.
