Compensation and BenefitsSalary: $21.12 per hour (range up to $33.85 per hour for internal transfers and rehires). Job SummaryWork with identified students who are at risk for dropping out, collaborating with parents, school staff, and community agencies to provide behavioral supports and monitor student data. Provide an enriched environment to facilitate intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth. Responsible to the building principal.
Essential Functions- Identify at‑risk students using grant criteria.
- Contact high‑school‑aged students who are not currently enrolled, attend infrequently, or are returning from expulsion.
- Determine intervention and support level (Tier 2 targeted, Tier 3 intensive).
- Conduct interviews to remove barriers and create individualized plans for credit completion and graduation.
- Conduct individual and/or group learning sessions.
- Maintain teacher and student contact paperwork and daily support logs.
- Assess student accomplishments regularly and provide progress reports as required.
- Collect and report at‑risk indicators and progress data.
- Act as key contact among student, parent, and school staff.
- Interface with students and staff to increase academic success through activities such as checking grades, scheduling, tutoring, and other interventions.
Follow oral and written directions; establish effective working relationships with staff and students. Must have visual, auditory, and ambulatory abilities; excellent verbal and written communication; conflict management; strong organizational skills; empathy and positive relationship building. Regular attendance required.
QualificationsEducation:
Bachelor’s Degree in education, psychology, human services, or related field.
Experience:
Successful experience working with at‑risk youth.
Preferred:
Bilingual Spanish (other language combinations acceptable).
Ability to sit for long periods; occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
