Weld Food Bank is at a pivotal and exciting moment in its history. The next Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will have the opportunity to build on this legacy while leading the organization into its next chapter - strengthening infrastructure, advancing innovation, and deepening community partnerships to ensure that no one in Weld County goes hungry.
Reporting directly to the Board, the CEO will lead the overall strategic, operational, financial, and managerial responsibilities for an operating budget of approximately $6M, a robust and complex finance budget including food contributions and warehouse operations, and a staff of 31. The CEO will serve as the organization’s chief spokesperson and fundraiser, establishing and growing relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including donors, sponsors, volunteers, local and state officials, and community partners.
In partnership with the Board and staff, the CEO will drive the development and execution of strategic plans that strengthen the organization’s sustainability, reach, and long‑term impact.

Job responsibilities Strategic Leadership and Vision- Leads the development and execution of Weld Food Bank’s strategic plan, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission to alleviate hunger and poverty across Weld County.
- Anticipates community, demographic, and economic trends impacting food insecurity and adapts organizational strategy to meet evolving needs.
- Works closely with the leadership team to set department‑level goals and performance objectives that support strategic priorities and operational excellence.
- Regularly reports progress, challenges, and opportunities to the Board of Directors, facilitating informed decision‑making and accountability.
- Identifies opportunities for program expansion, innovation, and partnerships to strengthen Weld Food Bank’s impact in the community.
- Promotes a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance program delivery, internal communications, and organizational effectiveness.
- Leads the development of the annual operating and capital budgets, ensuring alignment with Weld Food Bank’s strategic priorities and programmatic needs.
- Oversees financial operations, including timely reporting, audit compliance, reserve fund management, and monitoring of organizational assets to ensure sustainability.
- Provides leadership in financial decision‑making to support program expansion, operational efficiency, and long‑term organizational resilience.
- Serves as the primary public representative of Weld Food Bank, enhancing visibility and promoting the organization’s mission through media, events, and community engagement.
- Inspires confidence and engagement among stakeholders by effectively communicating Weld Food Bank’s outcomes, impact, and strategic priorities.
- Collaborates with the Chief Development Officer and team to develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy that meets current and projected organizational needs.
- Acts as the Weld Food Bank’s primary representative as required with government officials as well as business and community leaders to support and enhance the role and image of the food bank.
