This role involves repairing and fabricating structural blade products. The position requires completing repairs to a high standard and may involve training other technicians.
Base pay range$32.00/hr - $37.00/hr
Responsibilities- This position is part of the Repair Technician Program, demonstrating proficiency at basin repairs and achieving Level 3 competency on TDR.
- Perform advanced repair functions with a minimum of two repair types; evaluated by a Specialist who observes knowledge, behaviors, and ability to work independently.
- Understand epoxy and polyester resins, wet lay-up and vacuum bag techniques.
- Handle balsa and foam core materials; knowledge of fiberglass reinforcement and structural repair.
- Safely and correctly use powered hand tools; maintain quality knowledge of specifications (e.g., temperature and humidity restrictions).
- Consult with engineers, production personnel, programmers or others to resolve machining, assembly or quality problems.
- Maintain a clean work area, machines, tools and equipment; safely manage hazardous waste in satellite accumulation areas.
- Manage and complete all offered repair coursework and training; work independently and read drawings to complete repairs and document them properly.
- Draft work instructions in accordance with drawings; achieve 95% FPY of repairs.
- Conduct repairs precisely, accurately and timely with required documentation; train Repair Technicians at level I; complete all offered repair coursework and training.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years of composite repair experience.
- Has met or exceeded required TDR Level III, or has previous experience working with composites.
- Strong teamwork, adaptability, desire to learn, dependable work ethic, and craftsmanship with hand tools.
- Ability to read and comprehend advanced instructions and drawings; ability to write simple correspondence and present information in small group settings.
- Must pass annual Respiratory Fit Test and Confined Spaces Test.
- Numerical proficiency and ability to use tools and gauges; understanding of advanced drawings and blueprints.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of completing all offered coursework and training.
- Travel may be required; flexibility for overtime. Q role certification.

Pay range: $32 - $37 per hour. No travel, set schedule, climate-controlled environment.
