Communications and Outreach Activities Manager

Full-Time 40h/wk $58k to $64k/year Business Casual Attire

Connections for Independent Living is the nonprofit Independent Living Center for northeastern Colorado, serving people with disabilities throughout seven counties. We love what we do! The most perfect candidate for the position will have exceptional writing skills and be expected to be a strategic thinker with meticulous attention to detail, work well, and meet multiple deadlines. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to multitask and adapt to many communication styles. You should be innovative and have a keen ability for self-motivation in driving strategic messages to the Connections mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administration
    • Support the Director of Programs and Services in meetings, planning, and events.
    • Support the Director of Operations with tracking and reporting on program, grant, and event metrics.
    • Assist with grant writing and implementation.
  • Outreach & Community Engagement
    • Execute outreach strategy and manage events/workshops.
    • Represent the organization at community events.
    • Build partnerships with local leaders, organizations, and businesses.
    • Ensure outreach efforts are inclusive and accessible.
  • Communications & Marketing
    • Oversee external communications and brand consistency
    • Provide tools and guidelines to staff and volunteers to ensure consistent messaging
    • Create clear and impactful messaging for donors, partners, and community members
    • Develop materials in multiple formats (English, braille, large print, ASL, etc.)
    • Manage social media, website updates, newsletters, and email campaigns
    • Write press releases, media advisories, and campaign materials
    • Act as spokesperson when needed
    • Collect feedback to improve engagement strategies
  • Team Participation
    • Actively participate and engage as part of the Connections team and its purpose to the community
    • Provide back-up assistance to other staff as needed
    • Approach communication with a focus on empathy and improving relationships
    • Respond to project needs and requests for information
    • Maintain professional standards of performance, demeanor, and appearance
    • Exercise discretion and professional judgement

Compensation

This is a full-time exempt position. Salary range $58,000-$64,000 annually. 40-hour work week. Benefits package includes PTO, healthcare reimbursement, retirement match, and a generous holiday schedule.

Work Schedule

Work schedule is normally Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. with occasional schedule changes as needed, and remote Fridays with Quiet Hours.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (or commensurate work experience) in Communications, Project management, Nonprofit or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Communications field, managing programs and/or projects
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Able to meet multiple deadlines
  • High technology literacy with experience with Canva and Word Press is preferred
  • Autonomous in scheduling projects and meeting work package deadlines
