FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders.

Independent contractors earn a predictable, full‑time or supplemental income with a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required, but you must manage time effectively and meet deadlines.

MORTGAGE LENDERS require periodic updates on their properties. The purpose of the inspection is:

• To verify property occupancy.
• To report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application.

Most inspections are exterior only; about 10% require interior photos after a property has gone vacant.

• Most common type of inspection should only take 5-6 minutes.
• Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned.
• Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
• Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
• Complete a short form in an app.
• Spend extended periods of time driving, making numerous stops during the day within the assigned territory.

• Computer with an internet connection.
• Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus as you pay for your own gas).
• Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
• Printer.
• Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.

This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate that varies by county and volume. You will earn approximately $30–$40 per hour.

Depending on the county (urban or rural) you may complete anywhere from 20–500 inspections per month, working 2–30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates and higher volume counties have lower rates. Work is consistent month‑to‑month. Earn more as you become established, have greater availability to inspect, or cover a larger territory.

No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
