Job Summary

The City of Greeley is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Part-Time Bartender to join our dynamic team. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, preparing and serving a wide range of beverages, and creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for our guests. This is a part-time position that requires flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Must be 21 years old or older.
  • TIPS trained.

Preferred

  • Previous experience as a bartender or in a similar customer service role is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Knowledge of basic math skills for handling cash transactions and calculating drink prices.
  • Knowledge of different types of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, cocktails, and mixology techniques.
  • Knowledge of the business and organizational structure of Colorado municipalities.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and willingness to adhere to them.
  • Collaboration skills, including the ability to work with others from different areas and backgrounds to reach a common goal.
  • Computer skills, including the ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs and learn new software and systems.

Essential Functions

  • Serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and cocktails.
  • Greets customers in a friendly and professional manner, takes orders, and makes recommendations based on preferences.
  • Prepares and serves a variety of beverages following established recipes and standards.
  • Ensures accurate handling of cash transactions, including payments, change, and credit card processing.
  • Maintains a clean and organized bar area, stocks supplies, cleans glasses and utensils, and arranges bottles and ingredients.
  • Engages with customers to create a welcoming atmosphere and provide excellent service.
  • Assesses customer preferences and tailors drink recommendations accordingly.
  • Adheres to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
  • Monitors and manages inventory levels and reports discrepancies to management.
  • Collaborates with concessions staff to ensure efficient service during peak hours and events.
  • Stays updated with beverage trends and techniques.
  • Closes and cleans work areas.
  • Assists Ice Haus staff during events as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • No Supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment And Physical Requirements

Work Environment

  • Frequent and heavy contact with the public and City employees in person and by telephone.
  • Frequent interruptions.
  • Flexibility to work weekdays, nights, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Open environment with heavy noise levels at times.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Long periods of standing and walking.

Travel

  • May travel up to 10% of the time.
