Utility Locator – USIC

Location:

Fort Collins, CO

Hourly pay: $19.75 to $30.00 per hour.

As a Utility Locator with USIC, you will perform field locating of underground utilities, ensuring accurate marking, documentation, and safety compliance.

• Correctly, safely, and efficiently locate underground utilities, including telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer systems.
• Thoroughly search for underground utilities in designated areas, accurately marking the location, completing necessary documentation, and photographing each locate.
• Work outdoors in fresh air, using a company‑provided laptop to document and close all tickets.
• Adhere to a 48‑hour turnaround time on most locates; work after holidays and some weekends as needed.
• Perform daytime, full‑time duties with overtime; instructor‑led training provided; no prior experience required.

• Ability and willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Computer proficiency; ability to read and use locate tickets, maps, and prints.
• Available to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Able to pass a drug screen.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Ability to work in confined spaces; walk, bend, lift up to 75 lbs.
• Color discrimination to identify wiring and mark utilities.
• Clear communication with colleagues, customers, contractors, homeowners.
