Hours:
8–12 hours per week; schedule determined at hire, flexibility required
Starting Rate of Pay: $16.36 per hour
- Facilitate cross‑cultural communication for non‑English speaking dental patients during appointments, translating between patient, student, faculty, and dentist, and assisting with completion of health questionnaire forms.
- Assist with patient appointment scheduling and confirmation for non‑English speaking dental patients.
- Assist with translation of dental and medical forms and procedural signage for the Dental Assistant and Dental Hygiene Clinics.
- Adhere to HIPAA privacy laws to protect confidentiality of patient information.
- Communicate dental clinic services, protocols, and limitations to non‑English speaking patients.
- Technical Diploma or Associate Degree.
- 2 years of prior customer service/administrative work experience; ideally within the dental industry.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Fluency in Spanish and English, both written and spoken.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Two years’ experience as a Spanish/English interpreter.
- Experience with Workday and dental software such as Dentrix.
- Certificate from an interpreter training program or passing a certified interpreter exam.
