Position SummaryNortheast Wisconsin Technical College is an innovative leading‑edge college dedicated to student success. EssentialFunctions
- Responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering instruction and assessment of learning outcomes.
- Utilize engaging instructional strategies and methodologies which foster student success both in and outside of the classroom.
- Maintain accurate student records and communication.
- Advise and support students as a mentor and role model in the achievement of their learning and career goals. This includes being accessible to students outside of scheduled classroom time.
- Provide educational leadership and work effectively with faculty, administration, and campus support staff.
- Maintain Faculty Quality Assurance System requirements and licensure required by other agencies to maintain individual and program accreditation.
- Comply with College policies and practices related to instruction, assessment, and delivery.
- Additional duties and responsibilities will be discussed as needs arise.
- Course emphasis will be on Blueprint Reading, Welding (Cutting, Visual Inspection, SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, Flux Core), Metal Fabrication and Metallurgy.
- Provide educational leadership, including recruiting and public relations opportunities, work effectively with applicable advisory committees, community groups, faculty, administration, and campus support staff including (CTED) Corporate Training and Economic Development to perform contract work.
- Manage classroom and shop/lab by performing preventative maintenance on all equipment. This includes updating guards and safety modifications per OSHA regulations which ensure a productive and safe learning environment.
- Work to provide clear Welding pathways and subsequent partnerships with secondary education. Provide instruction and technical support to NWTC Corporate Training and Economic Development.
- Instructors will provide feedback to students based on their inspection and assessment of student weldments in accordance to code.
- A Technical Diploma OR State of Wisconsin Journey‑worker's certificate, plus five years direct occupational experience.
- At a minimum, occupational experience has to have occurred at least 1 year within the last 5 years.
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) preferred.
- Employment is conditional on the completion of a background check and drug test with acceptable results.
- Pass four 6G pipe tests per NWTC standard within first year of employment (may only teach processes after 6G pipe test successfully passed).
- Enroll in CWI classes within first six months if not credentialed as a CWI.
- No instructor shall teach a class unless they have work experience or have successfully passed classes on said subject since hiring.
- Previous teaching experience with adult learners is preferred.
- Ability to work non‑standard hours including evening and weekend hours.
