Liturgical Choir Accompanist is a student exhibiting strong piano and improvisational skills, sight‑reading ability, and a proficient level of choral score reading ability. 7‑10 hours a week.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED“Embrace the mission and vision of the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay and work in accordance with Catholic Teachings and the moral and ethical values of the Catholic Church.”
- Requires high school diploma and at least one semester of college undergraduate study
- Must be a practicing Catholic and a member in good standing of a Catholic parish
- Must be single, ordained, a professed religious or in a sacramental marriage
- Must have a strong faith commitment, dedicated to the Gospel values and living a life of prayer and service
- Extensive instrumental background required (seven to ten years of lessons including study of classical repertoire)
- High level of sight‑reading ability
- Proficiency in reading a choral score
- Improvisational skills and/or an understanding and working knowledge of fundamental music theory
- Experience playing for Catholic liturgies preferred but not required
- Ability to be creative, organized, detail‑oriented, and dependable
- Ability to be outgoing and comfortable meeting new people
- Ability to recruit and retain volunteers
