JOB SUMMARY
Spark the imaginations of our school age child care students as you share your passions, hobbies, interests, or career with children ages 5-12. In collaboration with the SACC Director, choose a topic you love and prepare and deliver a 45-60-minute enrichment presentation.
- Flexible schedule during the school year, 1-2 days per week
Part-time (less than 30 hours per week, not eligible for the Y's benefit package)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develop and obtain approval of a written lesson plan to ensure a quality presentation prior to any topic presentation. The list of topics is limited. A few ideas could include home alone classes, languages, fitness, snack making class, music, culture, photography, science, sign-language, sports, team building, theater, etc.)
- Coordinate and implement an enrichment activity that fit the needs and interests of the children in attendance while involving them with “hands-on” experiences.
- Provide a warm, caring atmosphere for the children while treating all children equally with dignity and respect.
- Ensure that the enrichment activity maintains safe conditions at all times.
- Act according to facility protocol to ensure safety of all staff and children which includes:
- Adhere to policies related to boundaries with staff and children.
- Attend required abuse risk management training.
- Report suspicious and inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
- Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
- Must possess adequate knowledge of the subject and possess the ability to teach this topic to a group of children.
- Past experience teaching the subject matter preferred.
- Must be mature and be able to relate well to children, adults, and school/site staff.
- Reliable transportation to make your way to a variety of SACC program sites in the greater Green Bay area.
- Building Relationships - Connect people to the Y’s cause by developing inclusive relationships and collaboration. Create sustainable relationships within the Y. Assist members in becoming more connected to the Y and build small communities.
- Communication and Influence – Listens and expresses self effectively and in a way that engages, inspires and builds commitment to the Y’s cause.
- Program Management – ensures program goals are met and intended impact occurs
- Developing Self & Others – develops self and supports others, both formally and informally, to achieve their highest potential.
