What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Lead project design through technical reports, geotechnical calculations, analysis, and modeling
  • Provide design, construction observation, and finite element analysis for earth structures and foundations
  • Collaborate with structural engineers on marine structural foundation designs
  • Evaluate soil and rock properties for heavy-lift foundations and ensure sustainable practices
  • Prepare permit documents for various engineering projects and assist with project management tasks
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience with an engineering consulting firm focused on geotechnical work in heavy civil design and construction
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field
  • Professional Engineering Certification (PE)
  • Strong technical expertise in geotechnical engineering principles and practices
  • Proficiency in using design tools such as AutoCAD for geotechnical analysis
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience designing waterfront facilities including pile, steel sheet, and slurry wall improvements
  • Experience designing retaining walls and deep foundations including spread footings and drilled piers
  • Familiarity with dredging, slope stability, and in-water capping aspects of remediation projects
