Electrical Designer, Distribution - Green Bay

What You’ll Do
  • Exemplify DEA’s Cultural Drivers internally and externally.
  • Design projects that will maintain and support various electrical utility systems by creating detailed drawings, specifications, staking, site walk‑downs, construction support, bill of materials, and cost estimates for distribution systems.
  • Collaborate with team members in an open communication culture, providing support in various disciplines as needed (surveying, environmental, permitting, project management, and engineering).
  • Perform electrical system modeling and analysis, preparing written reports and analysis documentation.
  • Help ensure that designed electrical facilities meet NEC, NESC, RUS, Cooperative, and specific utility standards.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to project teams.
  • Develop the project understanding, approach, and work plan.
  • Manage communications among the project team and client.
  • Maintain the technical quality, knowledge, and expertise of the work.
  • Implement the project QA/QC plan.
  • Travel occasionally for project execution.
What You Bring

Required Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems and utility construction.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Micro Station, or other design software.
  • Strong ownership, written and oral communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to make decisions with guidance in accordance with established policies and procedures and use initiative and judgment in completing tasks and responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 or more years of experience in distribution line design.
  • Competency in Spida‑Calc, Pole Foreman, O‑Calc or other similar design programs.
  • Understanding of engineering principles used in electrical utility systems, RUS specifications, work order procedures, NESC and NEC regulations, legal descriptions, easements, permitting processes, computer modeling, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Familiarity with industry‑specific technology and terminology.
  • Experience with Distribution Design Studio highly desirable.
