Position OverviewAs an OSP Designer
, you will be responsible for planning and creating high‑quality designs for new FTTx build‑outs, ensuring compliance with technical standards and project timelines. You will collaborate closely with engineering, construction, and permitting teams to deliver accurate designs for buried, underground, and aerial fiber applications.
- Interpret maps, drawings, and diagrams for Telecom/FTTx OSP construction projects.
- Create and review fiber assignments, high‑level designs, and low‑level designs.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, permitting teams, and field personnel to meet deadlines and client expectations while adhering to JSI standards.
- Maintain accuracy and quality in deliverables through continuous process and skill improvement.
- Complete other related duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience with telecommunications OSP design, engineering, and deliverable production.
- Working knowledge of computer‑aided drafting and design software such as AutoCAD.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Highly organized, self‑motivated, and detail‑oriented.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status.
- Post‑secondary degree in engineering, GIS, or a related field.
- GIS experience (ArcGIS or QGIS).
