Co-Occurring Substance Abuse Disorder Therapist or Therapist-in-Training

Join Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin as a licensed therapist in our Women’s Recovery Journey program. This full‑time position offers meaningful therapeutic counseling for clients dealing with co‑occurring substance abuse disorders.

• Complete comprehensive assessments using the program’s Biopsychosocial Assessment Form.
• Update diagnostic impressions based on assessment data.
• Develop treatment plans with client and parent signatures.
• Implement psychotherapy as per diagnosis and plan, using a variety of methods with individuals, couples, families, and groups.
• Monitor progress, evaluate and adjust services, and complete required case reviews.

• Education Requirement: Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or a related field.
• Experience Requirement: Provide therapy to survivors of trauma and clients with AODA issues.
• Licensure Requirements:
  • Wisconsin certified CAPS‑W or licensed professional counselor‑in‑training.
  • CSAC, SAC, or SAC‑IT credentials.
  • Eligibility for medical assistance, Medicare (if applicable) and third‑party reimbursement.
• Other Requirements:
  • Malpractice insurance is obtained on your behalf.
  • Maintain active licensure and eligibility for Medicaid/Medicare reimbursement.
