Bay Care Clinic Eye Specialists is looking for a Dispensing Optician to join our team in Green Bay, WI. We’re looking for a compassionate, thoughtful candidate who wants to contribute to a positive experience for all our patients. The typical hours for this role are Monday‑Friday from 8:00am – 5:00pm. No Holidays! No Weekends!

Responsibilities- Acknowledge patients as they enter the optical department.
- Call patients when eyewear is ready.
- Effectively analyze and interpret prescriptions, understand patient needs and promote optimum comfort, visual efficiency and cosmetic acceptability.
- Identify irregularities by applying knowledge of ophthalmic terminology to ensure prescription is correct.
- Recognize and share the limitations of the prescription with the patient as it relates to the practical application of the product by determining the relationship between prescription and the patient’s needs.
- Review and verify existing patient records, assess previous eyewear use, identify visual tasks to fulfill patient needs and wants.
- Work with and educate patients to determine appropriate frame and lens type.
- Work with vendors to place orders as necessary.
- Accurately measure facial, ocularly and frame; evaluate results to enhance proper visual performance and appearance.
- Demonstrate products to patients, explaining lens features and frame types to meet patient needs and wants.
- Demonstrate required skills and train patients in the proper use, care, insertion, and removal process for contact lenses.
- Verify orders to ensure correct eyewear is dispensed.
- As necessary, make adjustments of eyewear in relation to the patients’ head and face.
- Properly document deliveries and accurately maintain patient files and sales records.
- Submit billings to third‑party payers as necessary.
- Assist in merchandising, cleaning and restocking.
- Other duties may be assigned as necessary to meet the needs of the organization.
- Respect and maintain confidentiality.
- Work in a safe, compliant and ethical manner at all times.
- A minimum of a high school diploma.
- ABO Certification or related experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills are necessary.
- Basic computer skills needed.
