Behavior Technician at Wisconsin Early Autism Project – part of LEARN Behavioral
OverviewIn this entry‑level role, you will help children with autism develop communication, socialization, and self‑help skills through play‑based, applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy.
Responsibilities- Assist children with autism in learning and reinforcing target behaviors in their homes or at our centers.
- Collaborate with ABA therapists to implement treatment plans and collect data.
- Support families by providing education and resources to sustain progress.
- Maintain a consistent, reliable presence in the setting, ensuring a positive therapeutic environment.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Genuine desire to help children with autism and their families.
- Compassion, empathy, enthusiasm, kindness, goodwill, and reliability.
- Willingness to learn about autism, learning differences, and ABA.
- Daily reliable transportation.
- Availability for a consistent weekly schedule (mornings, afternoons, and/or evenings).
- Minimum age of 18 on the first day of employment.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
- Successful background check.
- Optional: bilingual in English/Spanish; background in psychology, education, special education, childcare, or related field; experience with children.
- Full‑time: up to 15 days of paid time off (PTO) after 90 days of employment.
- Part‑time: eligibility for sick leave.
- Starting pay of $16/hr, increasing with ABA experience/training.
- Opportunity for promotion within three months.
Physical Requirements
- Part‑time or full‑time between 7am–8pm CST, Monday–Friday and weekends.
- Physical tasks may include push, pull, and lift up to 35 pounds, and sitting on the floor, stooping, standing, walking, and running as needed.
