Job SummaryThis position is responsible for pre‑visit planning, standard rooming responsibilities, assisting with procedures, discharge instructions, and carries out both administrative and clinical tasks as directed by a medical provider. It is instrumental in helping the patient feel at ease while collaborating with the provider throughout the patient’s visit.
This position may be eligible for a sign on bonus.
What you will do- Room patients, perform and document vital signs and patient backgrounds.
- Coordinate provider schedules and appointments, enter orders and prepare patient charts.
- Instruct patients and families as directed within scope of licensure or certification.
- Prepare patients and assist medical providers with in‑office procedures and prepare and administer medications/immunizations.
- Maintain exam rooms and equipment within infection control standards and ensure appropriate levels of medical supplies for each patient room.
- Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program, Practical Nursing program, or an approved Advanced Emergency Medical Technician program.
- Minimum of 160 hours of direct patient care experience as an LPN/MA/AEMT obtained through professional work experience or completion of student clinical rotations.
- Current clinical experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Current clinical experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Experience as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician.
- Knowledge of principles and skills needed for practical nurse or medical assistant to provide patient care.
- Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
- Fosters work and patient relationships through excellent interpersonal skills and behaviors.
- Ability to work under stressful or emergency situations with high scheduling demands.
