Housekeeper - Hotel Northland Green Bay, WI

Pay Range

Base pay: $15.00/hr – $16.00/hr. (Actual pay based on skills and experience.)

Job Purpose

Cleans and prepares guest rooms and public areas to meet established standards of cleanliness and propriety, ensuring guest satisfaction and maximizing revenue. Warm, knowledgeable service and helpful guidance reassure guests they’ve made the right choice to stay with us.

Responsibilities
  • Retrieve items from shelves and storerooms, set up cleaning cart with supplies, maintaining carts and storerooms in a clean and orderly fashion to enhance efficiency.
  • Clean and wipe windows, doors, walls, closets and fixtures in rooms, public areas and hallways, often using ladders or stools to clean hard‑to‑reach areas.
  • Wash shower walls and tub, clean toilet(s) and stall walls, wipe exposed pipes, clean mirrors, sinks and walls in restrooms.
  • Replace towels, soaps and all room amenities, restock literature removed or soiled by previous guests.
  • Wash all hard floor areas by hand to remove dirt.
  • Dust and polish all furniture, fixtures, wall hangings, reaching vents and ceiling corners.
  • Strip bed of all linen, remake with fresh linens, check bedspread, blankets, pads, lifts mattresses for soil.
  • Check closet cleanliness, wipe door, handle, shelves, restock supplies.
  • Vacuum rooms, public areas, and hallways, operating vacuums up to 25 lb, lifting/moving heavy furniture.
  • Inspect all door and window locks; alert management of unsecured/unsafe situations.
  • Inspect all room equipment (TV, lights, faucets, radios), report deficiencies to Executive Housekeeper.
  • Secure custody of equipment, keys, supplies at all times.
  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.
  • Assist laundry department: retrieve soiled linen, sort, operate washers/dryers/pressers, fold and distribute cleaned linen.
  • Clean patio/balcony areas by sweeping, hosing, wiping furniture, cleaning doors/windows.
  • Provide assistance to other employees and departments for overall performance.
Qualifications and Requirements

High school diploma/secondary qualification or equivalent.

Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham or similar cleaning standards.

Physical & Cognitive Requirements
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning principles, cleaning products, operation of standard equipment.
  • Vision ability to see minute debris and read written instructions.
  • Upper body strength to lift up to 50 lbs continuously.
  • Dexterity to push, pull and move levers, equipment, furniture over 8‑hour shift.
  • Comfort with arms raised above head throughout shift.
  • Maneuver fully loaded maid cart (up to 50 lbs) through hallways/closets whole day.
  • Handling hazardous chemicals routinely.
  • Prolonged strenuous activity in climate‑controlled environment, heat/humidity in laundry.
