Position SummaryThe Infrastructure Engineering Manager will oversee the design, deployment, and operation of core service provider infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance across compute, storage, and networking platforms. This role blends deep technical expertise with leadership, guiding a team responsible for the patching, optimization, and lifecycle management of virtualization platforms, server hardware, and network systems that underpin carrier‑grade services.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 8+ years in infrastructure/network engineering, with 2+ years in leadership capacity.
- Strong hands‑on expertise with VMware, Kubernetes, and KVM in production environments.
- Proven experience managing Cisco UCS, Dell server platforms, Net App storage, and SP‑grade switching infrastructure.
- Demonstrated success in patching, lifecycle management, and high‑availability infrastructure design.
- Familiarity with automation and orchestration frameworks (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Helm).
- Certifications:
VMware VCP/VCAP, Cisco CCNP/CCIE SP/DC, Net App NCDA/NCIE, Kubernetes CKA/CKAD. - Experience with NFV/virtualized network functions (VNFs) and cloud‑native network functions (CNFs).
- Understanding of telco compliance, SLA enforcement, QoS in a Telco‑grade Data Center, and resilient architecture design practices, High‑Performance Computer Architecture design/operation.
- Ability to balance operational stability with rapid service innovation.
- DCIM Platform Management
- Lead and mentor an engineering team supporting mission‑critical service provider infrastructure.
- Define and enforce standards for infrastructure reliability, security, and scalability in a carrier‑class environment.
- Collaborate with network engineering, core platform, and operations teams to align infrastructure with service delivery goals.
- Direct patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management of virtualization, compute, and storage hardware in production networks.
- Oversee day‑to‑day infrastructure operations, ensuring high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) readiness.
- Monitor KPIs (uptime, latency, capacity utilization) and optimize systems for telco‑scale workloads.
- Implement remote access strategy for remote employees and vendors.
- Operate and maintain perimeter and internal firewall to affect the organization’s macro segmentation strategy
- Architect resilient, distributed infrastructure for mobile core, edge computing, and service provider workloads.
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies to enhance service delivery, automation, and cost efficiency.
- Ensure infrastructure designs support regulatory, compliance, and multi‑carrier requirements.
- Server Hardware: Cisco UCS, Dell Power Edge.
- Storage Systems: Net App appliances and SAN/NAS solutions.
- Networking: Cisco and Dell switching hardware (datacenter and service provider edge), Palo Alto Firewalls.
- Software: Veeam, Netbox, Ansible
- Maintain carrier‑grade reliability standards (five nines availability, geo‑redundancy).
- Implement proactive patch management, vulnerability remediation, and hardware lifecycle planning.
- Develop disaster recovery, high‑availability, and multi‑site failover strategies.
- Serve as escalation point for critical infrastructure incidents affecting service delivery.
- Coordinate with NOC, SOC, and network engineering teams for integrated operations.
- Partner with hardware/software vendors for support contracts, roadmap planning, and escalations.
