A well-established manufacturer in the Green Bay area is hiring a Purchasing Manager to lead its purchasing function. In this hands-on role, you'll lead a team of buyers and also manage material categories yourself. You'll work closely with Planning, Production and Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of buyers, and oversee daily purchasing activity
- Manage your own material categories from sourcing through delivery
- Build sourcing strategies that support cost, quality and delivery goals
- Find, onboard and manage suppliers, including performance reviews and corrective actions
- Negotiate pricing, terms and contracts, and find ways to cut costs
- Own inventory accuracy, including cycle counts and inventory transactions
- Set purchasing policies and procedures, and follow ISO standards
- Report on spend, supplier performance and cost savings
Qualifications
- 5+ years of purchasing experience in manufacturing (a degree is preferred)
- Experience leading or mentoring buyers
- Strong negotiation skills, and proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office
- Must have some sort of metals or fabrication manufacturing experience
