Location:
Green Bay, WI. Salary: $87,658.00 - $.
- Assist with recruiting and training volunteers for zoo events and daily operations.
- Manage online volunteer sign‑up sheets and create/update training materials as needed.
- Maintain volunteer department policies, procedures, and records to comply with Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA) accreditation standards.
- Perform background checks and interviews; process all paperwork and records related to volunteer recruitment and retention.
- Assist with recruitment and coordination of zoo internship programs.
- Conduct volunteer orientations and trainings.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of volunteer services and program.
- Serve as a liaison between volunteers and zoo staff members.
- Utilize social media, face‑to‑face communication, telephone, and email to maintain communication with volunteers.
- Ensure appropriate support for volunteers.
- Work with the Education & Volunteer Programs Coordinator to coordinate volunteer meetings and projects, ensuring adequate volunteer coverage for daily operations and events.
- Edit and publish the Zoo Volunteer monthly and annual reports; write and distribute press releases focusing on volunteer‑driven activities and events.
- Perform related functions as assigned (non‑essential duties).
- Knowledge and experience in volunteer management.
- Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate events.
- Proficiency with computers and required software.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers, zoo staff, members of the public, and zoo visitors/customers.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Team‑orientated and able to work cohesively with others.
- Ability to work the required hours of the position.
