NATIVITY OF OUR LORD PARISH - GREEN BAY
COMMUNICATION SPECIALIST
POSITION PURPOSE
:
This position is responsible for the coordination of the parish’s communications including by not limited to the church social media, website, signage, and printed materials. Someone in this role must have a heart for the Catholic Church, a love of Jesus and a desire to serve the people and ministries of the church.
ELEMENTS OF SUCCESS IN THIS POSITION ARE:

Ability to:

  • Possesses skills and/or knowledge about design and communications.
  • Interpersonal skills that are welcoming and relationship focused.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, problem solving, and trouble shooting skills.
  • Manage time efficiently and adjust work schedule as needs and situations arise.
In addition, an understanding of church structure, knowledge of the Catholic faith and loyalty to Nativity Parish, are essential ingredients in relationships with the Pastor, staff and parishioners.

VALUES AND BELIEFS:

  • Fosters the mission of Nativity Parish as expressed in the Mission Statement of the parish.
  • Acknowledges and is responsive to the different viewpoints, expectations and needs of all of whom you encounter.
  • Acts as a role model for others by supporting the Catholic Faith and the Nativity faith community—especially in the area of assigned responsibilities.
  • Is a good steward of the properties, talents and financial resources which are assigned to him/her.
SKILLS
  • Working knowledge of Canva, website maintenance, design and publishing are preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

“Embrace the mission and vision of the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay and work in accordance with Catholic Social Teachings and the moral and ethical values of the Catholic Church.”

  • Develops and executes the church’s communications plan to help inspire engagement, create strong connections between members, and help stimulate church growth.
  • Creates and manages social media content / Platforms (parish news and events) posts and engagement
    • Parish Facebook, Website, Flocknote, Instagram
    • On Mission Magazine, Green Bay West Neighbors publication
    • Reviews and makes recommendations about improvements and innovations in church communications.
  • Creates the weekly bulletin as the bulletin editor
    • Design and Submission
  • Maintains parish bulletin boards and pamphlet holder
  • Updates for the electric outdoor sign
  • Maintains phone system and updates
  • Participates in staff and parish committee meetings as requested.
  • Special projects and other assigned responsibilities as determined.
