Job Summary

The APP Specialty at Prevea is an Advanced Practice Nurse (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) who provides specialized healthcare services tailored to the specific department. The role operates within the scope of the specialty department and includes collaborating and coordinating with physicians and other health professionals regarding clinical practice, education, consultation, research, and program development.

What you will do
  • Provide assessment, evaluation, and management to patients that may include but is not limited to minor, acute, chronic, & episodic illness & injuries.
  • Perform follow‑up examinations when required, collaborate with patients to review their health background and provide health counseling and education.
  • Advise patients and their families on future health plans and illness prevention.
  • Provide follow‑up services as appropriate to assigned specialty, including ordering diagnostic and laboratory tests, prescribing pharmacological agents, and delivering non‑pharmacological treatment modalities.
  • Maintain and review patient records, charts, and other pertinent information, documenting all details in the electronic medical record.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other providers to develop and implement patient care plans to ensure the best possible care and outcomes.
  • Provide case management services to assist clients and families with arranging or referring patients to needed services.
Qualifications

Graduate of a master's level nurse practitioner program OR from an accredited physician assistant program.

Required experience:

1-3 years of work experience in a clinical setting within a health care organization.

Preferred

Skills and Abilities
  • Understanding of the specialty department’s information and techniques necessary for diagnosing and treating human injuries and diseases, including symptom recognition, treatment methods, medication properties and interactions, and preventive healthcare practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
