The typical hours for this role are Monday‑Friday from 7:30 am‑5:00 pm, with flexibility as a full‑time, part‑time, or PRN opportunity.

• Assist practitioners with patients; escorting patients to rooms, taking vital signs, and patient teaching as directed by a physician.
• May assist nursing staff in admitting patients in the pre‑operative area.
• Inform nursing staff of any patient concerns.
• May assist in the post‑operative execution of physician orders.
• Assist physician with treatment of patients such as handling instruments, tube changes, dressing changes, clip removal, and suture removal.
• Assist with surgery and/or procedures as requested.
• Schedule required tests.
• Talk with patients regarding scheduled tests and test results as indicated from charts after review by physician.
• Answer minor medical problem questions for patients.
• Make telephone calls to patients regarding physician orders and/or prescription medications ordered by the physician.
• Stock appropriate medical and drug supplies.
• Assist in routine cleaning of patient rooms, waiting areas, and maintain accurate cleaning logs.
• Accurately document all care provided to the patient in the patient’s medical record.

• A valid Medical Assistant certification is preferred.
• 1 year of experience required; general surgery experience helpful but not required.
• EPIC electronic health record experience desired.
