JOB REQUIREMENTS:
The Brown County Parks Department is accepting applications for one Limited Term Employee, live-in caretaker for general duties at Pamperin County Park located in Howard, WI.
This position will be required to live on site at the housing provided. The housing is located in the main stone pavilion, above the two rental facilities.
This position is an integral piece of the park operations, and will perform semi-skilled routine duties including, but not limited to daily opening of the park, daily closing of the park at sunset or midnight after a rental, rental facility operations to include all customer relations, and set up and cleaning of facilities as well as general grounds duties and enforcement.
The live-in caretaker must be available three weekends per month and able to cover split shifts as necessary.
Starting compensation will be $14.50 per hour. During the winter months (November-March) this position may only work 10 hours per week, and during summer months (April-October) 40 hours per week.
Family members would be allowed to live onsite with employee along with a pet, pending approval from the County. Monthly rent payments in 2026 are set at $230.00.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidate must provide exemplary customer service to all customers and actively participate in maintaining a positive customer service environment. Candidate must have exceptional communication skills through oral and written means. Ability to implement Department and County goals, objectives and policies, while maintaining performance standards.
Ability to live onsite in a public setting with over 200,000 visitors annually. Ability to live in a County owned facility with private rentals occurring below until midnight; music, general rental noise, and food odor from rental is noticeable in the housing provided. Ability to follow direction from management staff and maintain accountability throughout employment. Must adhere to all County Ordinances and other laws and regulations as all park users are required to do.
Must be flexible and willing to assist the park operations with little to no advance notice. Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions. Ability to assist with park rule enforcement including after general park hours. Ability to assist with grounds maintenance including snow plowing, lawn mowing and landscape maintenance. Ability to perform building maintenance including trash removal, floor scrubbing, window washing, public restroom cleaning and possess the ability to move large tables and stands of chairs around within the building and grounds.
Ability to assist with Brown County Dog Park inspections and maintenance as requested.
