Seasonal Maintenance ; WLS - Park Rangers

The Wildlife Sanctuary (WLS) is seeking a dedicated Seasonal Maintenance Worker to ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of outdoor areas while maintaining a positive public perception and enhancing visitor experiences. This role involves limited indoor custodial tasks, basic building maintenance tasks (inside and out), and assisting Park Rangers with various duties related to grounds keeping, trail and facility maintenance and the upkeep of animal exhibits.

This position does not involve direct care for onsite animals.

• Maintain outdoor areas to ensure a clean and welcoming environment for visitor's.
• Assist Rangers with grounds keeping, trail maintenance, facility upkeep, and animal exhibit maintenance.
• Perform limited indoor custodial tasks as needed
• Operate approved power equipment related to grounds and/or facility maintenance.
• Drive city vehicles and maintenance equipment as required.
• Serve as a public-facing representative of the sanctuary, often being the first point of contact for visitors.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain position communication with visitor's and staff.
• Follows all policies, procedures, and the philosophy that is set forth by the City of Green Bay Parks, Recreation, & Forestry Department.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with visitors.
• Experience with grounds maintenance and the use of power equipment preferred.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Valid Wisconsin driver's license and good driving record
• Previous experience in maintenance, landscaping, or a similar field is a plus

Ability to perform the following activities:

• Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent walking, standing, bending, twisting, squatting, crouching, and kneeling.
• Occasional sitting, climbing, pushing, and pulling.
• Ability to work in varied environmental conditions including extreme heat and cold.
