We are seeking skilled Service Technicians specializing in Caterpillar (CAT) equipment to join our team. We have openings for both Field Service Technicians, who perform on-site maintenance and repairs, and Shop Service Technicians, who handle comprehensive service tasks in our facility. These roles require expertise in a range of CAT equipment models used in construction, mining, and related industries.
Field Service Technician Responsibilities
- On-Site Maintenance and Repair:
Travel to customer sites to perform scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of CAT equipment, including but not limited to: - Bulldozers: D6, D8, D9
- Excavators: 320, 336, 349
- Loaders: 950, 980, 988
- Articulated Trucks: 745, 777, 789
- Diagnosis and Troubleshooting:
Utilize CAT diagnostic tools and technical manuals to identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues efficiently. Occasional operation of the machine in the determination of repair need or repair assessment may occur. - Parts Replacement and Testing:
Disassemble and assemble faulty parts, components, or systems on CAT machinery. Conduct tests and adjustments to ensure proper functionality and adherence to manufacturer specifications. Perform preventive maintenance and general machine upkeep. - Emergency Repairs:
Respond promptly to emergency service calls to minimize equipment downtime and maintain operational continuity for customers. - Customer Interaction:
Communicate professionally with customers, providing service updates, explaining technical issues, and offering recommendations for equipment performance optimization. - Load or unload equipment or components from customer-owned or common carrier vehicles as needed.
- Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of service activities, inspections, repairs, and parts usage. Complete service reports promptly for billing, warranty, and internal records. - Safety Compliance:
Adhere strictly to OSHA safety and Health protocols while performing tasks, identifying, and mitigating potential safety hazards.
- Shop Maintenance and Repair:
Perform comprehensive maintenance and repair tasks on CAT equipment in our shop facility, including major overhauls, component rebuilds, and specialized repairs. - Component Testing and Calibration:
