- Oversee daily second-shift city driver operations and workflow.
- Train, coach, and mentor employees in assigned areas, including corrective action as needed.
- Partner with the City Driver Supervisor to monitor performance and address operational concerns.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
- Complete required operational and driver-related documentation.
- Safely operate tractor-trailers between facilities and customer locations.
- Perform trailer moves, pickups, and deliveries within the Green Bay Metro Area and surrounding locations as needed.
- Perform deliveries beyond the Green Bay Metro Area, intra-state and occasionally inter-state.
- Assist with driver training, including ELDs, trip sheets, fuel reporting, scaling procedures, and load securement practices.
- Inspect, identify, and document any safety defects and communicate, both verbally and in writing, to the proper personnel.
- Properly communicate with management concerning accidents, incidents and delays.
- Proactively plan, communicate and follow through to completion all tasks without close supervision.
- Perform all the above in a safe, timely, and conscientious manner.
- Valid Class A CDL with ability to operate commercial motor vehicles safely.
- Ability to comply with all company policies, USDOT regulations, FMCSR requirements, and applicable laws.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, overtime, weekends, and in adverse weather conditions.
- Ability to safely perform all physical requirements of the position, including, climbing, bending, twisting, squatting, getting under the trailers, and frequent entry/exit from the vehicle.
- Ability to complete required paperwork accurately and timely.
- Knowledge of the Green Bay Metro Area and ability to follow delivery and operational instructions.
- Posses exemplary verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively communicate operational issues, incidents, and equipment concerns.
- Previous lead, trainer, mentor, or supervisory experience in transportation or logistics.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with ELD systems, trip sheets, fuel reporting, scaling procedures, and load securement.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to safety.
