Job Summary
Material Specialist role at Wisconsin Public Service in Green Bay, Wisconsin. This position is represented by Local No. 420 IUOE and involves warehouse activities within a distribution center and remote warehouses. The role offers opportunities for learning, problem solving, team collaboration, and initiative. Starting pay is $30.21 plus a shift premium of $.83 per hour, with regular increases per the bargaining agreement and benefits including Medical/Dental/Vision Plan, 401K Plan, Paid Time Off, and Paid Holidays.
Responsibilities- Perform all duties related to warehouse and storage yard operations
- Fulfill daily orders, receive, put away, restock and disburse materials utilizing the current ERP system
- Pre-load/stage material
- Inspect trailers for correct loading procedures
- Requisition and assist with procurement process when necessary
- Recognize and report damage and/or incorrect shipment of material
- Evaluate, prepare and account for returned materials including jobsite and field returns
- Identify and reclaim materials fit to be returned to stock or scrapped, sold or another means of disposition
- Assist with inventory accuracy
- Conduct physical inventory counts
- Resolve problems with storage locations and labeling
- Initiate, investigate, verify, report and correct discrepancies
- Assist the Materials Management group in maintaining adequate inventory levels
- Ensure material shelf life is regularly updated
- Maintain records
- Ensure proper accounting is applied to all transactions
- Perform required housekeeping tasks; keep storage areas clean and in an orderly condition
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently at remote company locations where independent decision making is critical
- Ability to use a range of equipment from computers to material handling equipment such as forklifts, cranes and other power industrial trucks
- Knowledge of materials procurement, handling, movement, coordination, arrangement, and disbursement
- Strong problem‑solving skills and willingness to take initiative
