Sales Representative, Outside Sales, Business Development
Job Description
We are searching for current and former athletes with a competitive mindset to join our unconventional and dynamic sales team. Athletes are constantly looking for ways to challenge themselves, and we have cultivated a culture that rewards your "leave it all on the field" mentality. This culture is reflected in your paycheck and pay each time you close a sale. Days are not spent trapped in an office;
instead you meet clients in the field while staying part of a team. The role requires moving past obstacles, focusing on goals and not being discouraged by the grind.
- Ability to change lives and make a significant impact every day. Our portfolio of supplemental health insurance products protect employees and small businesses. Our industry‑leading products are win‑win as they feature a built‑in money‑back feature; clients are refunded if they never use the policy.
- Tough‑minded, confident, and self‑starting.
- Disciplined and purposeful; eager to work independently.
- Skilled at overcoming objections and not afraid of rejection.
- Willing to work a full‑time week (40 hours).
- Possessing a track record of high performance or excellence.
- Passionate about helping others.
- Loves the hunt and likes working in a dynamic, changing environment.
This outside sales position works in an assigned sales territory. You will be trained to call on small and medium‑sized businesses, meeting face‑to‑face with owners and decision‑makers to offer supplemental insurance products and services. You will also conduct product presentations to groups of 50‑100 people as needed.
- Respond to general emails and phone calls from clients.
- Set follow‑up appointments with prospects and current clients.
- Attend scheduled calls or meetings with your sales team or manager.
- Call on new businesses, referrals, and existing clients who need to be re‑serviced.
- Build and maintain your own book of business.
- Meet with your manager to discuss monthly and quarterly targets.
- Develop relationships with local business owners in your territory.
- Manage your own schedule and submit hours each week.
- Follow up on provided leads and conduct cold calls, balancing warm leads with appointments.
- Submit daily sales metrics and activity.
- Virtual classroom and hands‑on sales training in your own territory.
- Weekly pay with bonuses and commission eligibility from the start.
- Quarterly and annual incentive trips, cash bonuses, and stock‑share bonuses.
- Advancement and promotions based on performance.
- Continuous professional development, advanced sales training, and leadership training.
- Increased schedule flexibility once an established book of business is built.
- A supportive, family‑like culture with like‑minded, driven people.
- Already licensed in Health & Life general lines or willing to obtain a license (reimbursement offered).
- Bachelor’s degree or minimum 4 years of professional experience. Candidates within 6 months of degree completion or with less than 4 years of experience but with specialized outside sales experience are considered.
