ASFC Federal AFSS is a premier provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration and project management services for real-time, mission‑critical defense systems. We are seeking a Senior Project Support Specialist to provide full‑time
on‑site support to a NASA contract in Greenbelt, MD
.
Responsibilities:
- Provide front‑office project support to the Global Modeling and Assimilation Office (Code 610.1) within the Earth Sciences Division at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.
- Perform office management duties in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Deliver general business and project support, including tracking and responding to action items.
- Prepare, review, and file documents; maintain organized office records.
- Schedule meetings and maintain office‑wide calendars.
- Manage office supply inventory and replenishment.
- Process, track, and log publication requests in the NASA‑wide tracking system.
- Support onboarding for new hires and visitors; update electronic files, records, and data.
- Track actions and project data using Excel spreadsheets.
- Follow Records Management protocols to maintain required documentation.
- Provide program management support to working groups.
- Create, edit, and format presentations as needed.
- Develop and track schedules for meetings.
- Serve as point of contact for mentors of student interns.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of the GSFC systems such as Mosi, IDMAX, and STRIVES is required. Strong writing skills are desired.
- Ability to provide full‑time, on‑site, support at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
- Strong ability to multitask, prioritize assignments, and manage time effectively.
- Exceptional customer service skills—both in person and over the phone—with internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly proactive, organized, and detail‑oriented, with the ability to respond efficiently to customer requests and deadlines.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally at all organizational levels.
- Individual must meet government NAC and citizenship/permanent residency requirements for access to NASA GSFC. Extensive background investigation will be performed as a requirement of the job.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 or more years of professional experience or 8 years of experience in lieu of degree.
