Do you have a passion for working with people with disabilities? If you answered yes, the Prince George's County Department of Parks and Recreation has exciting year-round part-time employment opportunities for you! Disability Services supports participants to learn, engage, and have fun in childcare programs, classes, special events, and recreation activities. Work opportunities are available on different days and times throughout Prince George’s County.

Under Title II of the ADA, Program Access supports people with disabilities in participating in summer camp, which typically runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Before-care or After-care options are available for additional hours. Classes and special events are generally held in the evenings and on weekends, although select daytime opportunities are also available. Program locations and assignments are subject to change based on program needs.

To thrive in this position, you must be willing to actively participate in all program activities—including pool time—assist with adapting activities and help facilitate social interaction among participants. Effectively communicating with supervisors, staff, participants, and parents/guardians is extremely important. All selected candidates must provide excellent customer service and must maintain confidentiality regarding disability, medical, and personal information.

Ideal candidates will have experience working in recreation programs, working in childcare or education programs, or supporting children or adults with disabilities. Starting positions and pay rates are based on age and previous experience. Please provide examples of experience in your application.

Program Access Position Locations by Team:

  • Northern (Laurel, Hyattsville, Largo among others)
  • Countywide (Sports and Learning Complex in Landover and Fairland Sports and Aquatics in Laurel)
