Electrical Test Engineer – Senior Level

Location: Laurel, MD

Salary: $98,000 – $117,000

• Fabrication of custom test fixtures and test setups, including LabVIEW automation software programs, for electrical, electro‑optical and other photonic devices and assemblies.
• Maintain laboratory calibration standards in compliance with applicable industry standards and processes, maintain calibration procedures and test data, and perform calibration of laboratory test equipment.
• Perform testing of electrical, electro‑optical, and photonic parts or assemblies; testing may include environmental (thermal, thermal vacuum, temperature cycling), mechanical (vibration, shock), and electrical/optical characterization.
• Analyze electrical and electro‑optical characterization data for photonics components and subsystems.
• Develop and maintain documentation (Standard Operating Procedures, LabVIEW code, test regimens/procedures, wiring diagrams, equipment modifications, etc.) in a current status on the approved shared drive location.

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience with electronic, electro‑optical, and fiber‑optic testing and test setup and operation.
• Experience with thermal, thermal vacuum, temperature cycling, vibration, and shock testing.
• Demonstrated programming skills in LabVIEW; writing new code, editing and compiling existing code for automation of test regimens, data capture and storage, and analysis.
• Knowledge of or accreditation with ANSI/NSCL Z540.3 and ISO/IEC 17025 calibration requirements for operation and maintenance of the calibration laboratory and calibration standards.
• Certification to Electrostatic Discharge standards (NASA preferred); ESD Program Manager certification is a plus.
