Your ability to understand, capture, and analyze data center architecture and IT systems will make you integral to delivering customer-focused engineering solutions.

As a Systems Engineer and model-based systems engineering ( MSBE ) Modeler, you will have the unique opportunity to help evaluate, improve, and modernize IT systems for a major earth science data center responsible for science data vital to understanding the causes of global climate change and the consequences of human activities on the climate. You will have the opportunity to leverage and grow your skills in digital engineering and MSBE and knowledge of earth science data to improve service delivery to worldwide users, including scientists, educators, decision-makers, and the public.

You’ll also perform responsibilities such as assessing relevant space requirements to enable the client’s ability to develop architectures using advanced digital architecture tools, work with subject matter experts and stakeholders to uncover hidden insight, support IT solutions from ideation to decommission, and support informed decision-making related to IT systems and services.

You Have:

• 3+ years of experience as a systems engineer, network engineer, or IT system administrator
• Knowledge of systems engineering principles and IT systems
• Knowledge of IT project life cycles and project management techniques
• Ability to communicate with organizational leadership, IT administrators, sof tware developers, and systems engineers
• Ability to recommend system improvements to reduce outages
• Ability to develop and maintain digital architecture models and documentation asso cia ted with systems
• Ability to comprehend and analyze complex requirements, data flow, system connections, and system interconnections
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or Computer Engineering

Nice If You Have:

• Experience with data center s and enterprise architecture
• Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler, No
  
  Magic Magic Draw, Sparx Enterprise Architect, IBM Rhapsody, or similar digital engineering tools
• Knowledge of MBSE principles
• Knowledge of System Modeling Language ( SysML ) or Unified Modeling Language ( UML )
• Knowledge of Git Lab or similar CI / CD technologies
• Knowledge of Dev Ops, Open Shift, Kubernetes, Docker, microservices architecture, and similar concepts
• Knowledge of space procedural requirements
• Knowledge of Agile or Scaled Agile met hodologies, cloud architecture, and configuration management
• Possession of excellent consult ation, troubleshooting, and impact analysis skills
• Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
