The U.S. Attorney's Office (USAO) for the District of Maryland serves as the chief federal law enforcement office in Maryland and is charged with pursuing justice and ensuring public safety on behalf of the United States. We are seeking a Supervisory Legal Assistant to assist/support Criminal Assistant United States Attorneys in efforts to discharge our mission. Vacancy is located in the USAO's Greenbelt office.
GS-09To be qualified at the GS-9 grade level, you must have at least one full year of specialized experience at the GS-8 grade level in federal service.
Specialized experienceSpecialized experience is defined as compiling trial notebooks, assembling jury instructions, and compiling witness and exhibit lists; using software applications and legal and non-legal databases to produce legal related reports and documents; conducting factual research; developing tables of contents and indices to briefs; and preparing courtroom presentations; distributing tasks and setting deadline dates for work performed by employees; advising employees of performance requirements of their positions and completing progress reviews.
