Description: The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities to highly‑talented scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects at a NASA Center, NASA Headquarters, or at a NASA‑affiliated research institute. These one‑to‑three‑year fellowships are competitive and are designed to advance NASA’s missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology.
Our research focuses on the geochemistry and geochronology of planetary materials. We analyze rocks from the Moon, asteroids, and Mars to reconstruct planetary history. Current projects include noble‑gas dating of lunar impact‑melt rocks, meteorite breccia studies, and the development of a LIBS‑MS based in‑situ isotopic dating technique (KArLE) for future missions. Proposals may explore K‑Ar dating applications, compare K‑Ar and Ar‑Ar ages of Martian and lunar rocks, and investigate experimental conditions to optimize flight instrumentation.
