Cummins Behavioral Health Systems, Inc. seeks a dedicated and compassionate School-Based Life Skills Specialist to work directly with school-aged students, providing life skills education and support, fostering social, emotional, and behavioral development. By collaborating with school staff and families, you empower students to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.

Currently, open position(s) exist in Putnam County, various school districts.

• Deliver engaging life skills interventions and strategies on topics such as communication, self-management, decision-making, conflict resolution, and self-regulation.
• Provide individual and family sessions to support students in developing essential life skills.
• Primarily work with students during the school day in the classroom or school office; before/after school and early evening hours will also be utilized to support students and families either at school or in the student’s home.
• Collaborate and regularly communicate with teachers, counselors, and school administrators to identify and address student needs.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and program outcomes within an electronic health record.
• Serve as a liaison between schools, families, and community resources to connect students and families with additional support services.
• Schedule and location of services may vary during school break times to accommodate students and families.
• Promote a positive, inclusive environment that fosters student growth and well-being.

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, or a related degree in the human services field is required, or
• Associate's degree in human services or related field plus (2) years previous direct care experience in social services, behavioral health, school-based, etc.; or
• High school graduate or GED and four (4) years previous direct care experience in social services, behavioral health, school-based, etc.
• Two years' post-bachelor’s work experience in mental health is preferred.
