Description Job Overview
We’re seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer with hands‑on UL 508A experience to design, develop, and support industrial control panels for automation and manufacturing systems. You’ll be a key player on our engineering team, working with customers and production teams to deliver compliant, reliable systems.
Responsibilities- Design industrial control panels in compliance with UL 508A
, NFPA 70
, and NFPA 79
. - Create electrical schematics and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical or similar.
- Develop bills of materials (BOMs), wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Work with UL inspectors and internal QA to ensure panel shop certification compliance.
- Support the panel build process with shop floor troubleshooting as needed.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including sales, support, project management, PLC, and field service technicians.
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical degree.
- 5+ years experience designing and building UL 508A industrial control panels.
- Proficiency in electrical CAD software (
AutoCAD Electrical
, EPLAN
, or similar). - Knowledge of NEC
, NFPA 79
, and relevant safety/grounding standards. - Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, relays, and industrial control components (e.g., WAGO, Advantech, Mitsubishi, ABB, and others).
- Experience working in a UL-certified panel shop
. - Understanding of machine safety systems or functional safety design (ISO 13849, etc.).
- Prior field installation or commissioning experience a plus.
