At Avenues Home Care of Tennessee, caregivers are the front line of our services, representing our commitment to quality care. As a Weekend Caregiver, you will provide compassionate support to elderly, vulnerable, disabled, and those who are unable to care for themselves in the Northeast Tennessee area.
Primary Responsibilities- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, personal hygiene, toileting, transfers, eating, and continence care as outlined in the client’s plan of care.
- Provide medication assistance, housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, feeding, shopping, transportation, and companionship.
- Perform other household tasks specified in the client’s plan of care.
- Report daily activity to your supervisor via the agency management system and maintain logs and communication as needed.

- Maintain a professional appearance and follow company dress code.
- Report shifts promptly and manage scheduling changes.
- Immediately report suspected abuse or neglect as required by law.
- Document unusual behavior, events, or conditions.
- Maintain confidentiality of records and communications.
- Attend meetings and training as requested.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and written assignments.
- Proficiency with Clear Care, the Home Care Company Management System.
- Maintain an established work schedule.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills with tact and diplomacy.
- Strong organizational and planning skills with attention to detail.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships.
- Keep confidential work information protected.
- Meet physical fitness requirements and hold a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
- Age 18 years or older.
- CNA license or equivalent caregiver experience preferred.
- CPR & First Aid certifications preferred.
- Reliable transportation.
Prior experience assisting with ADLs or caring for elderly, disabled, or other vulnerable clients.
Equipment Used- Telephone, smartphone, or tablet.
- Personal Protective Equipment.
- Work safely in accordance with safety rules.
- Report unsafe conditions and behaviors.
