American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and a 1:6-7 patient ratio background.

• Medical Surgical unit setting
• 1:7 patient ratios
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:30-07:00)
• 36/36 and 36/48 schedules available
• Floating required
• No call requirements
• Epic charting system experience preferred

• Active TN or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• AHA BLS certification required; AHA ACLS preferred
• AHA certification is the only accepted form for BLS/ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Experience with 1:6-7 patient ratios required
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line blood draws, and peripheral line management
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
• Experience with colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tube care
• Experience with CVA, heparin, and insulin administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and telemetry
• Experience with rapid response/code team protocols
• Experience with isolation precautions, PPE, and wound care/wound vac
• Experience in MS/Tele, renal failure, surgical drains, and total joint replacement preferred
• Relias EKG testing required within 72 hours of signing
• Drug test must be completed within 12-14 calendar days prior to start
• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines

• Contract clinical team members are expected to support nursing student education and clinical training alongside patient care duties
• Must reside 100+ miles from the facility's service area; local candidates not accepted
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online coursework
• 16 hours of nonbillable orientation required
• Facility may cancel one shift biweekly without financial penalty due to census changes
• Additional shifts above the work commitment may be flexed without penalty based on census needs
