The Firearm Compliance Lead will be responsible for overseeing the compliance side of receiving and daily outbound shipments in our Firearm Fulfillment Center (FFC). Will review and maintain the accuracy of the facility’s A&D Book. Will be involved in product restrictions, ATF compliance and related reporting. Will keep supervisor informed of important developments, potential problems and related information necessary for effective management.
This position will report to the Assistant Manager - Compliance.
- Process returned firearms coming back to the Sportsman’s Guide from dealers where a firearm transfer did not take place.
- Responsible for obtaining & securing the firearm, checking and clearing the firearm and processing the return.
- Ensure the firearm is returned to the Firearm Fulfillment Center (FFC) and secured in this facility.
- Keep supervisor informed of important developments, potential problems and related information regarding the return of a firearm.
- May also assist in the picking and packing of firearms on occasion.
- Oversee and assist with the loading of outbound firearms to our shippers.
- Support in the research of laws and regulations related to restricted products.
- Assign restriction codes for all products sold by Sportsman’s Guide.
- Respond to customer product inquiries via the “Perfect Form” program.
- Investigate and ensure correction of any discrepancies in the A&D Book.
- Assist with cycle count and full firearm inventory procedures and processes.
- Ensure all fulfillment SOPs and activities within the FFC are adhered to.
- Knowledge of firearms including type, make/model and caliber.
- Know how to safely clear a firearm.
- Some knowledge of the ATF A&D Book and associated requirements.
- Be able to pass a background check.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations preferred – Order filling & Packing, Shipments, etc.
- High school education or equivalent.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office products like Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work accurately with numbers and have high attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong team player are required.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and communication skills are a must.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Knowledge of rifles, handguns and shotguns.
